I’m Bas Nijzink (2005) a creative Dutch (Amsterdam region & remote working) freelance versatile music producer, composer, sound designer & instrumentalist. I’m inspired by artists like Voljum, Hildur Guðnadóttir & SEATBELTS. I love playing around with jazzy chord progressions, heavy basslines, & unexpected sound design techniques.

Whether it’s vocoding a bass to add some crunch, morphing harmonics into chords, or even using a bow on bass guitar strings, In my professional home studio near Amsterdam I’m all about experimenting to find new sounds. I play a bunch of instruments, including guitar, piano, bass guitar, & even wind instruments like the bansuri & xiao. If I’m not playing my instruments, I’m probably in Ableton or FL Studio DAW sound designing.

Whenever I play the piano, I play pieces of my favourite composer such as Frédéric Chopin but I also like to improvise & write my own pieces on there.
On the guitar I prefer playing more technical fingerstyle pieces such as “Neon” by John Mayer. I do composing, foley, & sound redesign under my own name.

In March 2025, I graduated from the Music Production program at PACT+ Amsterdam and performed my compositions @ IMPACT+ in the Melkweg Amsterdam. A mix of ambient, electronic, and classical cinematic music, inspired by the five elements and synchronized with visuals to bring it to life.

In September 2025, I’m starting the ‘Composition for the Media’ program @ HKU University of the Arts – Utrecht.

I passionately create original music across multiple genres with a unique sound. Whether it’s heavy, jazzy, or completely atonal, I always strive to tell a story through sound.
