Music & Sound

You might know me as B-NYZ music!

I’m a young ’05 creative Dutch (Amsterdam region & remote working) freelance music producer, composer, sound designer & instrumentalist. I’m inspired by artists like Voljum, Hildur Guðnadóttir & SEATBELTS. I love playing around with jazzy chord progressions, heavy basslines, & unexpected sound design techniques.

Whether it’s vocoding a bass to add some crunch,
morphing harmonics into chords, or even using a bow on bass guitar strings, In my professional home studio near Amsterdam I’m all about experimenting to find new sounds. I play a bunch of instruments, including guitar, piano, bass guitar, & even wind instruments like the bansuri & xiao. If I’m not playing my instruments, I’m probably in Ableton or FL Studio DAW sound designing.

Whenever I play the piano, I play pieces of my favourite composer such as Frédéric Chopin but I also like to improvise & write my own pieces on there.
On the guitar I prefer playing more technical fingerstyle pieces such as “Neon” by John Mayer. I do composing, foley, & sound redesign under my own name.

While it’s a passionate hobby right now, I’m working toward turning it into my career.
I’m in a music production college right now called PACT+ Music Production & after I get my degree I’d love to go to the Conservatory to study Composition.

Upcoming March, I get the opportunity to perform my own compositions @ IMPACT+ in the Melkweg Amsterdam, a mix of ambient, electronic, & classical. I sync it with visuals of the six elements to bring it to life.

To sum it up, I just love making music. Whether it’s heavy, jazzy, or completely atonal sound design, I’m always looking to tell a story through sound.
